I LOVE painting the landscape in winter. The snow simplifies and beautifies, creating pure design. This scene was captured from my drone up on Badger Mountain just north of us. I love the gullies, sagebrush and colors of our native landscape, and a drone offers a unique point of view! "Spring Thaw" is pastel on archival sanded pastel paper. She will look fabulous in a wide 'plein-air' frame!
